Dunno as to this, but that’s all the DQs available.

Sorry, **Tom Scud** , you didn’t have the chance to ask a DQ after all.

Shall I tell you all the answer now?

IQ - did you once pitch a perfect game and a third?

A rules question here - if it’s one initial, in this case “H”, should it be the initial for the last name only?

Tell you what. I’ve won, but I’ll let everyone who has asked me a DQ thus far ask me an additional DQ as to a specific name that fits all the clues above. If, after 48 hours, no one’s successfully guessed who I’m thinking of, I’ll start the next round.

And… go!

Twenty DQs had been asked by then, the most I was obliged to answer, so there was no point in doing so. I let **Tom Scud** ask a 21st DQ because he’d earned one earlier and I’d said he could ask one before I realized the 20th had already been earned and asked (I always try to answer in order of being asked - first come, first served). Sorry.

I got no clue. Giving only the first name initial makes it overly tough for only twenty DQs.

Are you Howard Hawks?

Reorganizing in case it helps anyone else (I’m still drawing a blank).

1. Male

2. American

3. Dead

4. White/caucasian

5. Nonfictional

6. Born in the 19th century
9, 17. Did not die between Jan. 1, 1800 and Jan. 1, 1950

7. Not celebrated for accomplishments in the arts (visual arts, music, literature, etc.)

8. Not famous in the fields of science or technology

12. Not known for holding a government/political office

13. Not generally regarded as a villain/bad guy

14. Not famous for either journalism or medicine

15. Invented something, but not best known for that

16. Invented something that is still commonly used today

17. First name starts with “H”
With all those "not"s, I’d guess we’re talking about an industrialist or businessman, but I can’t think of anyone who fits.

All good, my mistake.
What about my rules question? Botticelli was a staple of family car rides when I was growing up, and we played last initial, so I’m wondering if in this version the initial can apply to either.

I just thought of someone who died in 1967 (I didn’t realize he made it that far until I looked him up). Since I don’t have a DQ coming, I’ll put the name in a spoiler box:

Henry J. Kaiser
