Botticelli - May 2018

Well, here’s my last DQ:

DQ: Are you Dr. Peter Parker, missionary-physician who introduced Western medicine to China? (and not secretly Spider-Man at all)

Are you noted economist Paul Samuelson?

Not either of those I’m afraid. I think I would have answered “yes” to science for a doctor or an economist.

I’ll leave this open for another 12 hours in case MonkeyMensch or Knowed Out want to have a guess.

My best guess is LePetomaine. I concede.

Never heard of him. I am in fact Paul Morphy, American chess prodigy who was considered the best player in the world in his prime. Born in New Orleans, he spent most of 1857 beating all comers in New York, then Europe, before retiring from the game and dying back in New Orleans at the age of only 47. Surely someone has heard of this American chess icon?

Yes, I have heard of Paul. My father was a big chess enthusiast, and studied Edward Lasker’s books and games, but I heard about a number of chess prodigies, and Morphy certainly was one of them. Good job, DC!

Thanks. For reference, here’s a list of the last few letters we have used:

Let’s try W for the next round.

IQ1: Did you portray *Blade *in the Marvel movies about a vampire hunter?
IQ2: Were you a much maligned boy genius in ST:TNG?
IQ3: Are you the actor who played him?

I am not Wesley Snipes (or has there been a Marvel series that differs from the original that I am thinking of?). Don’t know the other two but will guess Wil Wheaton for the last one, despite being pretty sure he only appears in later ST series.
