I thought perhaps some Scandinavian death metal songwriter, but DQ 21 squelched that. Then I wondered if it were Marshall Mathers - Eminem - as he apparently speaks German; but of course, he’s an American whose native tongue is English. Is this one of those where I’m going to be facepalming and wondering how I could have missed it? ---

Yeah, and the the thing is, I can think of a handful of of bands or musicians from Scandinavia - Sigur Ròs, Björk, Ace of Bass, Of Monsters and Men - but none that aren’t known for _performing_ music. ---

Argh. Thought I had a bolt of inspiration today - Yngwie Malmsteen, about whom I know nothing more than he’s a Scandinavian musician (a Swede, I discovered); but it turns out he’s a guitarist. So much for bolts from the blue, dammit. ---
