The “Mendoza line” was named for Mario Mendoza, a 1970’s shortstop whose batting average tended to hover about the .200 mark.

John Marquand authored the Mr. Moto books.

DQ1: Are you known primarily as either a TV or movie character?

I will reserve #2 for now.

Henry Mancini? I know the Peter Gunn soundtrack won a Grammy, but I don’t if it was the first one.

No clue on the 2nd (Madero was a leader, but I don’t know if anyone was named after him. Zapata and Pancho Villa are the only other revolutionaries that come to mind). Take a DQ

#3: Another DQ for you. I’m guessing it was the Kennedy album that was a big hit when released but got pulled from stores after the assassination, but I can’t remember who recorded it.

Recap:

M

Nice going on Henry Mancini- yes, his “Music From Peter Gunn” won the first “Best Album” Grammy.

And even though you didn’t remember the name, you were on the right track for the comedy album. Impressionist Vaughn Meader won the Grammy for the comedy album “First Family,” which spoofed the Kennedy clan.

Finally, Italian fascist Benito Mussolini was named after Benito Juarez, who led the Mexican rebellion against the emperor Maximilian.

:smack: Yes, that was an IQ, and yes, you got it correct. Here’s the DQ I meant to ask:

DQ: Comedy role?

1. Mark Clark, the goat of the Battle of Anzio, later superintendent of The Citadel.

Correct as to the other two (I believe it’s Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio). Well done!

DQ: Movie which came out since 1980?

And then…

IQ: Did you meet your top leader just once, on a Pacific island in the 1950s?

IQ: Did you sing “Poor Wand’ring One”?

IQ: Did you write a book about your extensive pin collection?

Yes to the DQ.

I’ll take a wild stab at the first IQ and guess Audie Murphy?
No clue on the other two. Take 2 (or more likely 3) DQs.

Yes, you got Melman Mankiiewicz, the giraffe from “Madagascar.”

Juan Marichal was the winningest pitcher of the Sixties, but never won a Cy Young Award (someone like Koufax or Gibson always seemed to have a slightly better year than he did).

And the first #1 single written by John Denver was “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” sung by Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary fame.

Douglas MacArthur and Harry Truman met just once, on Wake Island, I believe in 1951.

Mabel in _The Pirates of Penzance_ warbled that famous love song.

Former SecState Madeleine Albright wrote a book about all of her pins: [Amazon.com](http://www.amazon.com/Read-My-Pins-Stories-Diplomats/dp/0060899182/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1319833313&sr=1-1)

Harvey Milk is correct.

Michael Nesmith of the Monkees wrote the Stone Poneys’ one big hit, “Different Drum.”

And Jackie Mason, who comes from a family of rabbis, was a rabbi himself before turning to comedy.

Saving IQ’s as we’re getting close to the DQ limit and I want to see if my hunch is anywhere in the ballpark.
