Take a DQ. **Jesse Barfield** was a great right fielder with an arm like a cannon; didn’t need a cut-off man. I had the pleasure of watching him many times - he could make a catch right at the wall and unload a throw that would make it to two feet over from home plate on the third base side. After a couple of months of incredible outs, runners started holding up at third. We traded him to the New York Yankees in the late 80s when his offensive numbers started to drop; too bad - he was a great player. Anyway - DQ - Are you a religious figure? ---

Notre Dame quarterback John Huarte won the Heisman trophy for 1964, while Namath in fact finished eleventh. Nonetheless, it was Namath the New York Jets signed for $400,000 the next season, while Huarte had to settle for half that (which nonetheless made him one of the highest-paid players in the AFL). “Too much vinegar?” was the question TIME mag asked of “Vinegar Joe” Stilwell of the Burma campaign. The guy with the pipes was familiarly known as “Joe the plumber”. Do I have to know his last name? I will ask just one DQ for now: Are you known mainly for your military career? ---
