And Sal Tessio (yes, the Abe Vigoda character) is the one who tried to betray Mike, Just before he goes to his death, he haplessly tells Tom Hagen “Tell Mike it was just business- I always liked him.” Strangely (but accurately), Hagen replies, “He understands.” 1.
