There are countertop ones, and most of the smaller ones install with minimal and reversible changes to existing plumbing.

Spoke w/ my daughter yesterday. She was with her BF and his parents over the weekend. She commented that the parents are apparently filing for bankruptcy, yet they repeatedly bought bottles of water and discarded them before finishing them. Whereas my cheapass daughter hauled around her refillable bottle - or simply was able to wait without needing to be constantly hydrated.
If you live somewhere that has decent water (define however you want, but Chicago/NY surely qualify) I think buying bottled water is a ridiculously foolish and environmentally irresponsible action.
I’d never buy bottled water. It seems like a scam to me.
My new fridge has a filtered and chilled water dispenser. Best water I’ve had had anywhere.
I went to a ball game today. They allowed me to carry in unopened bottle of water, but not reusable containers. Whether that’s too keep folks from smuggling in vodka, or because there are afraid a reusable bottle might make a decent weapon, or both, i couldn’t tell you.
But it was a hot day, and i was happy is tossed two bottles in my bag.
