I’m just not so bloody polarized that I cannot see reality when it is presented to me. I do not deny truth because it goes against the worldview I’d like to believe in.
This thread was created for what I stated in the OP: I wanted to know if the aspersions cast against Moore were true.
Trying to tar me with a Rumsfeldian brush as if I was Ashcroft, wanting to stomp on the rights of Americans is not only absurd, it is insane.
I agreed with what Moore said at the Oscars, even if I thought that he could have presented himself in a manner far better than the smug and cutesy way he came off.
This is not about disliking contradiction. This is about how you have forcefully hijacked this thread for your agenda and are insulting those who disagree with you.
You have come off as hysterical and shrill as the former senator who was interviewed on Talk of the Nation today.
It strikes me that you dislike contradiction. Not only are dissenters wrong, we’re all on the side of Bush, and are all for destruction.
I tend to think you’re right, Diogynes - but you’re a Cynic, so I hope you’re understand when I ask you for a cite if you seriously want to debunk the debunking of BFC.
My point was not to drag this thread into the “they are wrong” bash that it has become. If you read my original post I was actually agreeing with the fact that a lot of the information seems fabricated. My only point was that the ‘meeting is required by law’ (and there by insinuating that the NRA’s hands were tied) was presented as a “fact” to refute some of the information in the movie. I thought I adequately demonstrated that. I only mentioned my (and Senor Beefs as a counterpoint) opinion to help portray that.
