I was watching a local LA Television station this morning (KTLA) and they had Steve Madden. I got there in the middle of the interview so didn’t get a complete bio of him but he seems to be some fashion guru. They were having a fashion show of shoes. And what was being shown as being an up and coming trendy shoe but bowling shoes. Your dress and tennis shoes designed to resemble those rented shoes at the bowling alley.

TeeHee. HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa. Oh my. Snort, hehe.
Doesn’t it seem that once again the fashion industry is trying to steer us toward nerdyness?

You can see this guys web site at [http://www.stevemadden.com/index.shtml](http://www.stevemadden.com/index.shtml)

When I was in 10th grade I took my lawn mowing old kicked tennis shoes to the bowling alley and kept the bowling shoes. Sported them through a large portion of that school year, too.

No fewer than TWO women in my office have bought these shoes. Only one has had the guts to wear them into work so far, though. I am blessed to work with, um… _interesting_ people.

I hate this style of shoes. I saw them in a catalog for a shoe store and thought I would wretch. They are soooo ugly. Please do not ever let me get near them, I might just burn them.

Who makes up these fashions anyway? I mean, everyone hates the ones at the alley, so why would you go buy some? Of course, I have no fashion sense at all, so take this with a grain of salt.

I had a pair of bowling shoes throughout college. Wore them to nearly every dance I went to. Damn if I wasn’t the hit of the party. Well…at least the shoes were.

However, 5 hours of dancing in shoes that sport only a swatch of leather for the sole will reak havok on your ankles.

I thought my otherwise cute, but apparently mentally impaired friend was the only one. She got black bowling shoe lookalikes with off-white laces and tannish stitching. The best part is, _she paid over $100 for them_!

It’s all I can do to keep from smacking her upside the head every time I see her wearing them. It’s simply tragic, I tell you.

Bowling shoes are kinda unhip, now, I thought. Almost everyone I went to high school with stole a pair.
