# Box Office: The Two Towers

Finally just saw some very preliminary estimates for TTT for Wednesday:

**$27.5 Million.**

A stunning figure for a 3 hour film opening on a weekday. If accurate, that would place the opening as the 13th highest single day figure, and second highest Wednesday opening.

Predictions for the 3/5 day totals placed the movie anywhere from 87 to 120 M (Yes, that high number looks unrealistic to me as well). A strong Wednesday opening was a critical factor in pushing towards the $100M mark.

If the opening number holds, TTT has an excellent chance of clearing $100 in five days, possibly even making $110, although again the running time makes that number difficult. There is certainly a chance, though slight, of crossing $100 in 4 days, only a day more than Spiderman took. Thursday & Friday numbers will tell the tale on that.

I’d stress this number is preliminary, and very subject to change.

Just saw Hollywood Reporter…boffo in Britain as well!

I don’t think Mr. Jackson has to worry about the film breaking even.

I probably should have mentioned this was the US domestic.

I have also seen a report that this shattered the record for an opening day in Germay.
