So how was it?
Thanks for asking. It wasn’t bad, even though it was for an hour.
No music was offered. They gave me earplugs, and the cushions on the side of my head also muffled the sound. As a result, the sounds were not especially loud.
They put me into the thing quite a bit further than I expected, at least up to the waist, possibly as far as the hips. It was very, very snug, my arms had to go across my front. I did not have a problem with that nor did I feel claustrophobic. It was actually kind of comforting, perhaps like being swaddled.
The only bad part started about 15 minutes before the end. I have bursitis in one knee, and that knee doesn’t like to sit in the same position for a long time. So I started having pain in my knee, the kind that is very difficult to ignore (you will understand this if you’ve ever had bursitis). I tried moving my leg around a little but it wasn’t enough to help much, so I just had to gut it out until the end. Either I got used to it finally or it started fading a few minutes before they stopped. Next time I’ll take some Aspercreme to put on just before going in. It seems to help for a while, so the effects should last for an hour anyway.
