More trivia: Natalie Schaefer agreed to do the pilot because she wanted a Hawaiian vacation. She thought the premise of the show was so silly it would never sell. She was heartbroken when it did. Because she was considerably older than the rest of the cast (including Jim Backus), Schaefer had a clause written into her contract stating she’d never be shown in a close-up. Bob Denver loved smoking pot so much his trailer smelled like an Art teacher’s office. You could always tell when one of Tina Louise’s boyfriends was on the set because of all the noise they made banging in her trailer. ---

Another bit of trivia; the S.S. Minnow was named for [Newton Minow](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton_N._Minow), chair of the FCC who famously called television a vast wasteland. ---

Very good! 👍 As for Mrs Howell: (a) “Lovey” was apparently a pet name. By what other name was she called in the show? (b) What was her maiden name? ---

I’m okay with that. Any other takers? Here are a couple more: (a) What was the name of Ginger’s doppelganger? (b) What did Gilligan name his pet pigeon, and in honor of whom? ---
