Brand names that changed in everyday usage

There are UL standards for HVAC tape. I would expect to see the proper tape used in commercial and industrial work. For residential work, I suspect anything goes with less professional installers, but the right tape should be used.

I had a 1983 Datsun Nissan Sentra Diesel. Yep, it had all that spelled out in badges on the trunk lid. This was in the U.S.

Anybody remember that Great Adventure originally had a drive-through safari park in addition to the amusement park?

Not a commercial brand, but one of my previous employers was ON Semiconductor. Everyone in the industry called them “ON Semi”. We were told repeatedly that we were to one use the full name “ON Semiconductor”, especially in external communication. Never the nickname. A year or two after I left the company gave in and changed its name to “onsemi”.

They still do - it’s not a separate park anymore , and there was a time when guests were driven through in safari vehicles, but in 2020, it went back to driving your own vehicle through.

When Chrysler acquired American Motors in 1987, AMC became the Jeep/Eagle division and lived on for another ten years or so.

The shop name is Eason. That is the name over the door. Harrods has Harrods over the door.

Pepsi Corporation has offered a lemon lime soda to compete with 7-UP under the following names:

Teem then Slice then Sierra Mist now Starry

I never had Teem but the last three I don’t remember really tasting THAT much diffferent.

Back in my soda driking days I was a Sprite man. Had to have only that for the most part. Slice was horrible, nothing like Sprite. Sierra Mist was close and would do in an emergency. Never tried Teem or Starry.

Squirt!

Squirt is a completely different animal. It’s grapefruit, not lemon-lime

Forgive me, I hadn’t noticed this was Factual Questions. Sorry.
