What I meant is that there were much better roles he could have taken in the 60’s in particular, and his personal life and weight problems were things that all too often made him a punchline. But the body of work will live on and on, of course.

You know, as great an actor as he was, and believe me, I do admire his work, I still wish he’d have died before ruining his childrens’ lives. True artist in the field, lousy person.
