Is it just me or is this ref calling too many fouls? Seems very intrusive so far. ---

I’ve never seen a keeper use a substitute to kick his goal kicks. How bad is his backup that he’s playing? Especially if they go to a penalty shootout. ---

Well, that was returning Lahm to the back in trade for some slower midfield transitions. But he sure did look comfortable there. ---

I don’t think the referee’s being biased; he doesn’t seem to have control of the game. He’s not been very consistent, letting some bad fouls go unnoticed and calling some phantom contact. He let Brazil almost block the Colombian free kick and then let a dust up at midfield go completely unremarked. ---

Yeah, that Colombian free kick around midfield was an odd sequence. Also Colombia’s play on their free kick from just outside the box was strange. What’s the point of making the small touch on the free kick to the shooter if you’re not even going to move the ball a foot? It just allows Brazil to close down the shot, without changing any angles. ---

One minute it looked like there were going to be warnings and such, and the next second Brazil was streaming downfield in attack as if nothing had happened. Awful, awful refereeing. Should have been 3 or 4 yellows already, not managing free kicks, let a fight go, inconsistent foul calling. 25 fouls and no cards. He’s lost control, if he ever had it.
