I think bringing Agüero on at half was a definite mistake. He’s run around for 90 minutes and done very little. Ugh. ---

Well, that was disappointing but Germany were undeniably better today. Argentina just didn’t have enough offense. They were never going to be champions of the world with Palacios and a hamstrung Agüero out there. ---

The better team won. IMO Argentina played an exhausting counterattack style of offense and they were physically done by the 70th minute. ---

Overall a decent final. A great first half and though it became scrappier after that, the winning goal was worthy of a final. I think the 2002 final was a bit better but this one is second-best in the last 25 years. ---

Good match, and the best team on the day probably won, although Argentina will rue their blown chances. Goetze’s goal was fantastic, definitely a worthy cup-winning strike. As a good Aussie fan, though, i’m sticking with Tim Cahill for goal of the tournament. ---
