Germany put in the rebound after a strong save by Howard. Long time coming, but US can’t be shaken. Just keep playing their game. ---

Germany have looked in control of this throughout. 1-0 flatters USA at the moment. Great strike for that first goal. Shame For Tim Howard as he hasn’t put a foot wrong really. ---

Germany definitely doesn’t look content to rest on their laurels. To be fair, given the current score lines the US would be foolish not to look for a tying goal, so it’s in Germany’s best interest to keep playing the way that has them in control of this game. ---

A second German goal would be likely meaningless as far as the US advancing, yes? Losing 1-0 or 2-0, and they’re out if Ghana wins. Losing 2-1 or drawing 1-1 and they’re in if Ghana wins 2-1. ---
