It would seem that getting into the bread would be a major Marital Issue. :dubious:

I started pretty much the same thread 2 years ago.

I didn’t get a definitive answer.

The ties wrapped around the cables of the DVD player I unwrapped today were wrapped CCW. Obviously from the Southern hemisphere.
Or wrapped by a female person in either hemisphere.
Wait, do women wrap CW in the Southern hemisphere?

It takes less energy to twist things counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere (clockwise in Southern) … when we’re twisting in the same direction as the Earth’s rotation that extra twist is added to our efforts … not much, but over a human’s lifetime it can add up to a full rotation or two … maybe … why doesn’t your bread come with a [plastic clip](https://perryfjellman.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/bread-clip.jpg) thingy? …

What do ya mean “put it back on”? The tie goes in the garbage so the bread can be opened and closed with a one handed twist and tail under.

I too use the twist and tail under method. But that won’t work until about 1/4th of the loaf has been eaten. Before then the tail isn’t long enough to go under the loaf and stay there. The flat plastic clips are the best method on nearly full packages of whatever.

It’s not as disrupting as the tp roll over-under argument. That one has to be decided within the first week of a relationship. The twist tie controversy is barely even an annoyance.

Install two TP rollers.

The roll of TP sits on it’s side on the counter top … so it comes off counter clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and clockwise in the Southern …

> Off topic - anyone else have difficulty with clockwise/counter clockwise? I can always figure it out eventually, but my initial thought is always that it depends on your point of reference or something.

It does depend on your point of reference. If you look at a transparent clock from the back, the hands are moving counterclockwise. If you thread a nut onto a bolt and look at it from the nut end, the nut is moving clockwise, but if you look at it from the bolt head end, it’s moving counterclockwise.

A man in the bread industry told me that machinery is being replaced by equipment manufactured in China instead of Germany. The Asian equipment twists ties backwards.

We use [Klippits](http://www.lakeland.co.uk/2894/48-Klippits-Food-Storage-and-Sealing-Bag-Clips---Mixed-Sizes) - cheap and versatile. Bread is usually sealed with a strip of sticky tape which is not reusable.

Yea …those plastic thingy are very useful…guitar picks…flipflop fixers…tick removers…splinter scrapers…cat toys…you can even paint with them…but I never leave it back on the bread…They are worthless for keeping the bread fresh.

Ah, yes. Good old binder clips. Myriad uses around the home. I usually grab a box or two every time I’m in Office Max.
