What the hell kind of craptastic DQ doesn’t sell hot, solid food?!? **Alien** I was unaware of BaconFest being held at your home’n’hearth. I assume my invitation was lost in the mail - I forgive you - but now must know, what in hell you plannin’ to DO with all that piggy goodness? Oh, a Mumper 'Hood would be the shit! I like this fantasy, I wanna keep it going. What else? Let’s see … Oh! Can we have a cee-mint pond? And somehow keep out the riff-raff? (NO ThumpMobiles. Period. You can have all the dogs/cats/trout you want.) Thank gawd it’s Sunday. I don’t subscribe to de-heathenization - since, naturally, I am perfect just the way god made me - but Sundays are a shorter shift at irk. I woke naturally about ten minutes before my nice, much later alarm, which is usually a good omen for an impending Good Day ™ and it’s hotter & more hyooooomid than I prefer but not quite into OMG-WTF territory today. Two days off tomorrow, looks like Mon/Tues are my new “weekends.” So. Fucking. Many. Flies. But Da Jungle has promised delivery today of my magnetic screen door flaps for the side door where Nikki goes in/out, so hopefully, not having the door ajar will mitigate their household population soon. Christ, I hope they’re not breeding somewhere in the house. Yes, I hung fly strips. Swatter gets a daily workout. Whatever, I have yet to see a single c@%&\*#@ch in this state, which I consider to be an acceptable tradeoff. I will say, it is interesting to note the fly variety. Green ones, shiny peacock blue (pretty!) or fuzzy gray-black. Some are wee little things, faster than a racehorse on a meth binge; and some are these big huge things I swear I could strap a saddle to and ride myself. Or at least Nikki might. One enormous fat fly was buzz-bumbling around the kitchen the other night and bumped a plastic cup, and I thought for a second it might actually tip the damn thing over. Okay, I gotta be at irk in half an hour and I’m still unwashed. (God, I love living five minutes from irk!) Must shevel myself, and go rejoin the local drug dealers. Lemme know when the developers break ground on MumperVille homes! ---

My webmail wouldn’t come up last night. ‘Safari Can’t Find the Server.’ I just looked on their FB page, and saw that this was posted about a half-hour ago: > A regional municipality suffered a water main break that triggered a service interruption with an upstream network provider. This issue currently impacts our Email, DSL, and Dial Up customers. Customers using Cable and HyperLink high speed internet are not impacted by this event. So a water main break took them down for the whole country. ---

Morning friends. Swampy, what is N.O.L? I let my roommate’s dog out this morning and the dingdong immediately wrapped her tether around a tree and then looked at me helplessly. Sorry, sister. You’re going to have to solve this problem yourself. Luckily, she eventually did- just as I was getting ready to call someone. Roommate is elsewhere (no idea where) and I really wasn’t sure who was going to be able to just pop over to my house real quick at 7 AM. Hi to missred and I hope you find your keys soon! Try climbing in through the kitchen window. That sometimes works. I like the idea of an MMP neighborhood. I’d like a fenced yard and a catio. Children and dogs can come over to my house. I promise to be a good no-drinking, no-drugs, no-parties, not-much-noise neighbor. I, too, am unwashed… shamefully so at this point. It just takes energy I do not have to spare at the moment. It’s up there with eating in that it can be daunting, the process is way more complicated than you realize if you’re able-bodied, and it takes a lot of energy to accomplish, but I tend to feel better afterward. ---

Yeah. I’ve seen a lot of shaming, on this board and elsewhere, of people who for whatever reason can’t have a shower/bath every day. Some people don’t realize that for some other people, it can be difficult. MMP neighbourhood will be nice. Can my place be soundproof? Unless y’all don’t mind hearing the alto clarinet. 🙂 ---

I don’t think our MMP neighborhood would need an HOA (because they’re _eeeeeeevil_) but we will need some sort of authority to keep the riff-raff in line. Maybe like watchstanding in the military - everybody has to take a turn periodically. What could possibly go wrong??? 👮 👮‍♀️ 🕵️‍♂️ 🕵️‍♀️ 💂 💂‍♀️ 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 🤣 😂 I do think we’d have to segregate the neighborhood somewhat - morning people section and night people section. With a common area as a buffer in between. And the common area would have a big pavilion with a well-equipped kitchen because, well, cooks and communal meals!! And a big dog park with an automatic pooper-scooper. What else? ---

I don’t think some of you’d like my lawn standards in a Mumper neighbourhood; I like my grass knee high and full o weeds and bugs and wildlife. Add to that the bees and bugging everyone for a vegetarian option at every communal meal, and maybe it’d be better if I lived a bit further out in the sticks with some chickens and things, and just came over when I was feeling sociable. ---

I can recommend my “subdivision” in AZ for Mumper Land. Many lots are available! The best part is that the lots are 30-40 acres! That’s far enough from EVERYBODY. Wonderful buffer from noise, puky smells, and unreasonable people! And it’s peaceful. ~VOW ---

Afternoon all. The doughnut sugar rush has gotten me to the afternoon and the sun has come out for a bit, so all is well in the world. **Vow** , not sure **Nut** could adjust to the desert climate…heck, not sure I could anymore, and I lived for 4 years in Abu Dhabi. **Nut** , that’s what back yards are for. As long as the front yard looks ‘respectable’, you can do about anything in the back. Or you could hire **FCM** or **swampy** to do mowage… **flyboy** , so Safari sogood?? (yeah, you haven’t heard that more than 600-700 times…) **show** , hope the fly-preventers work; they can be irritating. OK, need to eat a little lunch and pretend to do some things about the house. All y’all take care. ---

Horrid ecological deserty wastes of water and resources, that are somehow considered not just a benefit but a necessity. They started as a way for the wealthy to show off- a way for landowners to say look- all this land, and I’m not only doing nothing useful with it, I’m paying someone just to keep it cut short, to show off how much money I have and rub in it the peasant’s faces. My inner peasant revolts at the very idea, and joins forces with the outer ecologist, to say ‘ppppbtht’ to lawns. ---

There are some days when it’s a choice between shower/put on human clothes, prepare food and eat, or take care of my ferals. Ferals can be done by someone else, but someone has to be available for it. If nobody is, they have to be high priority because they depend on me. As far as food or shower, I can skip either for a day, but really shouldn’t for a second day. I keep trying to “train” my hair to tolerate every-other-day showers, but alas… it really wants to be limp and greasy. Anyway. Just in case anyone is wondering, I am now a clean bean in clean clothes and my ferals are as well (well, no clothes, but clean and fed). Food hasn’t happened yet, but… it’s time for a break before I think about that. ---

I agree with you Nut. I’d rather have wild flowers than a lawn. Lawns are waste of water and cause an horrible amount of pollution through the use of pesticides and fertilizer. I think lawns should be banned, and I think bans on clothelines should be banned. People say they care about the environment, but then they allow HMOs to ban outdoor clotheslines. ---

Gordie and I went out, good thing because it just started thundering. sari, one thing I like about my complex is it’s mostly natural area and trees. Trees make a difference in outside livability down here.And I usually han my stuff up inside to dry. Although a spin every few loads does get the pet hair off. ---

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, DQ’d (is too a word, I just made it up), had a little quality cee-mint pond time, napped, and had watermelon. Also I have hauled the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. All in all, a pretty good day here at da cave. Maybe we need our own Mumper country.
