I hang my stuff up to dry when I can. I have an indoor rack and an portable outdoor line. Neither one holds much. But everything hung indoors gets a short spin in the dryer to fluff it a little and get the hair off. I sat out front for a bit with the neighbor. Big Mouthed Buffoon was out there bellowing at the kid, then the daughter of the Screeching Banshee was out there shrieking at the other kid. She has the most shrill voice. ---

Yay! I thought my Mumperville fantasy might seem odd. So glad it doesn’t! But no need for division. Every house shall be soundproofed so thoroughly, day people won’t hear night people. Lawns? Well, that’s more complicated. I’ve always thought it was stupid that people living in climates and with soils that don’t support lawn grass spend so much time, money, and water trying to grow the stuff. On the other hand, I remember my daughter saying she liked grass that “doesn’t hurt my feet.” Ah, what the heck, it’s a fantasy neighborhood. I’d like a little mom-and-pop grocery store. We had one in my neighborhood when I was growing up, and it was wonderful. Oh, and could we please have trees? About showers…My mom, who was from Italy, washed up every day but only showered once or twice a week because that’s how she was raised, and she was very clean and fresh. We kids bathed twice a week unless we got really dirty. When my son was little, his doctor told me NOT to bathe him daily. Showering daily is, for many people, unnecessary and a waste of water. **Flytrap** , where did you get the idea one can’t start a sentence with _also_? It’s perfectly correct to do so. _Also_ is a conjunctive adverb, like _therefore_, _otherwise_, or _nonetheless_. Starting a sentence with a conjunction is dicey, but even then, it’s acceptable in certain circumstances. My, this takes me back to my teaching days. 🙂 ---

Evening all. Supper has been supped and house swept, so all is right with the world. Need to load up the dishwasher for a Monday run and do a couple of other minor jobs tonight. Ended up napping again (drat), will try to do better Moanday. I’ve got nothing against trees or wild places, just around here in Suburbia, USA, a mowed and cared-for lawn is almost a basic requirement, and I try to have one that isn’t the worst in the block (never want to work hard enough to make it the best). And there is a fairly large forest area about 100 feet from me, if I need to get back to the wild for any reason. Good night all y’all and I’ll catch you come the new MMP. ---

Done with another day at irk. We be training many noobs lately, which is … um … a mixed blessing. Stopped at Dah Sto’ on the way home, and have obtained a chicken to roast, plus an artichoke for some other night, plus an ear of corn. This is, like, a phenomenal amount of vegetables for my diet. Kidding! I also eat Fun Yuns, which totally count, t— what? They don’t? Oops. Unfortunately, when I got home, I sat my ass down. Shoulda started the chicken first. It’s gonna be hard to haul myself back upright. My feetsies are tahred of holding me up! Dammit. Maybe chicken tomorrow - yeah, I can prep it so it’s sitting unwrapped and salted a while ahead of time. Makes the skin nice and crispified. Okay, so tonight will be a potato and onion hash. I have a couple strips of bacon that need to get used up. Just. Have. To. Get. Up. ---

Hey, you all. On my virtual Camino, I’m leaving Logroño, Spain and heading west toward Burgos. Last summer I visited the Burgos Cathedral and the Museum of Human Evolution, so the stamps for these sites are next to each other in my pilgrim passport.
