Breaking Bad 24 May

Ooohhh that’s right! So there could be TWO more deaths? Who could it be? I just don’t know if I can wait until the next episode airs!

I totally agree. From the commentary for the show you learn that there was really no dialog for the last scene where Jane choked to death. It was all improvisation on Bryan Cranston’s part to display all the emotions that are going through his mind. And contrary to what I thought when I first watched the scene, Walt’s motivation was not to save his own hide. He was genuinely concerned about Jessie’s heroine use and letting Jane go was the way to free Jessie from that hole. Jessie has essentially become a second son to him. Jane’s dad’s comments at the bar prodded him to take another shot at talking some sense into Jessie. While the plot has been truly dark at times it has been a real treat to watch the tour de force that Cranston has pulled off in his role as Walt.

I’m not sure what you’re disagreeing with. He did stand there and watch Jane barf herself to death without doing anything. That was a conscious choice that he made, just as he made a choice to push his son into drinking tequila until he barfed. There’s something cold and angry inside him that blocks out his feelings, especially when he feels someone has crossed him. He didn’t “have to” let Jane die. He chose to. I understand why he did it, but his reasons were not noble. I don’t see how they could be, considering the effect. That was some cold shit, right there. The grimace after Walt Jr. barfed was the same as the one after Jane died-- it was Heisenberg, grimly satisfied. There’s definitely a parallel there, in degree if not intensity.

As for it being fine acting, no argument there. Bryan Cranston deserves every award out there. He’s amazing.

hmmmm

Just my WAG: How about Walt’s self-installed hot water system fritzing, sparking

like a bastard and setting fire to his cash stash?!

Cooking here, now!

Makes sense to me, flano1! He’s gonna need a reason to keep cooking next season. (I don’t see Gus as the kind of businessman who would force Walt to cook.)

I have no clue about the body bags, especially if they’re really at Walt’s house. Also no clue about the guys in the hazmat suits. Walt’s broken car windshield could be from Jane’s dad. I think it’s a given that he and Walt will meet again.

(I didn’t spoiler that because it wasn’t in previews, it was in flash-forwards at the episode’s start.)

Yeah, the water heater has got to be involved somehow… Otherwise why spend so much time and detail on it? And remember the episode that started with the song about the Mexican cartels? I bet the body bags have narcotraficantes in them…
