[Here’s](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nTGSfbP-N8) the 13 and 15 year old brothers that provided the soundtrack to Walt and Jesse trashing the lab. Something else interesting: The little wire the Walt set up to create the spark actually ignited the fire. That is, there wasn’t an off camera igniter. When they were ready to light it, someone turned that outlet on and the spark you saw actually started the fire. Though the fire was very under control and they did (IIRC) 5 takes.

There’s not going to be a new episode tomorrow.

There’s nothing on TV that can scratch that itch in the meantime. Damn.

I do, and that is indeed next up on the totem poll, but it’s getting pretty stale and hasn’t been great since season 2 IMO. Game of Thrones is the second best thing on TV, but we’ve got a ways to go for that too.

I think S4 with John Lithgow was my favorite season, though Pardon My Tits takes a close second.

Totally forget about him. It was a good, twisted season, but I still liked Trinity the best.
And as I said a million times in the S2 threads, I really hope Quinn doesn’t become Doakes 2.0

I re-subbed to Showtime for _Dexter_ but I only made it through half the first episode. I thought last season was awful. Too many close calls where he almost gets caught. Where’s the meticulous planner from S1 and S2? I guess I could watch thinking he **wants** to get caught, but I’m tired of him and his “Dark Passenger”. Tired of LaGuerta too.

_The Walking Dead_ is enough appointment TV for me, for now.

I think the Dope probably has more lurkers per poster than any other forum on the web, because posters here are so good at covering everything most people are likely to say.

Ok, I know I’m a few months late, but I finally caught up with Breaking Bad and had a few comments

> [@billfish678](#):
>
> I think bug detectors work mainly by detecting an outgoing radio signal. A bomb isnt going to have that. Though I do admit it didn’t look particularly well hidden. I think they should have just shown Hector ringing the bell, Gus going “oh shit” then the explosion as seen from outside the room. The viewers didn’t have to actually SEE the bomb (we can put 2 and 2 together after the fact you know).

I think that would have been confusing. We’ve seen Walt testing the bomb with a walkie-talkie. We’ve seen him lurking outside the window. Not showing the bomb would make it look like Hector was ringing the bell to signal to Walt to blow them up, which is a very different thing than him setting off the bomb himself.

> 1. I was not at all left with the feeling that Walt poisoned the kid..the look on his face when Jesse told him the kid would be okay had me thinking he actually meant to poison the mom which I think he could’ve lived with but not have lived with killing a child…afterall he has a newborn and relates…I believe it was a mistake.

I don’t think this works logistically. If he poisons the mom, how long does it take for Jesse to find out? We have no indication that Jesse’s in tight enough with the family for them to call him (the one time prior to this that we see him interacting with _her_ mom, he kinda gets the stink eye). Poisoning the kid, and Jesse’s going to be phone call number two (after calling grandma) from the hospital. Plus, in the aftermath, it’s believable that a kid would have eaten some poisonous berries because they tasted sweet. It is not believable that an adult would have eaten random berries without knowing what they were.

A few post finale interviews [with the cast](http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/2012/01/season-4-interviews.php).

Since I don’t speak Spanish I can’t speak to how good Mark Margolis (“Tio Hector”) was or wasn’t personally, but I thought it was funny that in [his interview](http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/2012/01/mark-margolis-interview.php)they commend his believability as a Spanish speaking character. Here and on other sites I’ve read his Spanish is almost universally panned.

I _do_ think he did a great job as the wheelchair bound/non verbal Tio, and he said he based some of the character on his invalid mother-in-law. (I assumed Tio had suffered a stroke, though with the character it could as easily have been drug overdose, attempted assassination or any number of natural causes that left him in that condition.)

> There’s [this video](http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/10/watch_a_video_very_thoroughly.html)I thought was interesting that someone made after last weeks episode laying their case for Walt poisoning Brock. Obviously we don’t need the video to prove it to us now after seeing this week’s episode, but I thought it was interesting, since it points out Saul calling Jesse so many times, the symptoms of Lily of the Valley, shows the clip of the bodyguard switching the packs, and overall makes Walt’s plan mostly make sense.
>
> Also, I think everyone would be interested in reading [Vince Gilligan’s walk through the season](http://www.avclub.com/articles/vince-gilligan-walks-us-through-season-four-of-bre,63013/) at the AV Club.

Another one late to the scene, because we just finished watching the end of season 4 on Sunday night. We were wondering how Walt managed to get the Lily of the Vallry seeds or buds or whatnot to the kid. Having the bodyguard switch the packs now makes sense. But how could he be sure they would get to the kid? Or did Brock really just find them himself by accident? Pardon our confusion on this point.

We enjoyed the series immensely and are looking forward to season 5. But I have to wonder how people can hang out in parked cars in residential neighborhoods so often and not have anyone call the cops to check them out.

Hmm. No thoughts on that I guess. But another one I had is considering how Walt must remember the time they bugged his house, he’s awfully free with his speech inside Jessie’s house and some other places. I’d’ve assumed all these were bugged. And how could he really be so certain that Mike took _all_ the bugs from his home?

They were berries, I believe. Presumably he got them from the plant he has in his backyard, and either fed them to the kid or snuck them into his food. How the kid got the poison isn’t specified, but it wouldn’t have been impossible. He didn’t switch the poison in the cigarette and hope it would get to the kid, he just took the poison cigarette, poisoned the kid some other way, and let Jesse connect the dots.

Hopefully there will be some flashbacks next season so we can see what exactly went down. I still can’t believe Huell was deft enough to switch cigarette packs on Jesse.
