# Breaking Bad gone bad

Is it just me or did Breaking Bad just fall of a cliff last night?
The pace, the writing, everything just seemed like a different show and I’m not impressed.

I’ve only watched the first half. It is a bit slower than the premiere, but I’m okay with that – there was almost too much going on in the first episode…
Do you think the commercials make a difference? I do. They’ll ruin pacing, every time.

I wish they would make a decesion on swearing. Either swear and let it air, or don’t. It’s annoying to me that they filmed it with swears and then censor them back out. Except for ‘shit’ they let that one though for some reason.
I like it so far.
I have a question though. When the fire truck passed the RV that clearly was crashed on the side of the road. Is there a reason they didn’t radio for help or at least check up on it after they put out the fire.
And what’s going to become of the gas mask those kids found? And what the hell where those kids doing in the middle of the desert anyways?
ETA, I was just gonna ask where AuntiePam is. This seems like an AuntiePam type show. Especially now that Sopranos is gone. But that’s what I get for not reading user names as I go through a thread.

I liked the scene where the formerly milquetoast Walt asks his wife, very politely, if she would mind “just once, climbing down out of my ass.”

Ha! 🙂 That reminds me of something a friend told me last week. I asked her about a book she borrowed, and she said she tried to get her daughter (age 20) to read it. The daughter says “You got that from Pam? I don’t think I should be reading Pam’s books.”

OK, I finally watched both episodes. I’m digging it! It teeters on the edge of being unbelievable, but never quite goes over. So far, AMC is doing quite well against FX. _Mad Men_ and the _Breaking Bad_. Bravo (no pun intended)!! I love the way the druggie still calls the dude Mr. White, like he was still in HS.

Just watched it. I thought it was great, and I didn’t notice any difference in pacing from the first episode. I like that I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen next. That’s good writing! The horror that fell through the ceiling was fantastic!

Never heard of it, but it sounds interesting. I don’t think I’ve tuned into AMC in years. This sounds like a show that should be on HBO or Showtime, where they wouldn’t be constrained about realistic cursing and whatnot.
ETA: I always seem to miss the interesting shows while they’re on; probably end up seeing this one on DVD.

I am digging the show in general. But I didn’t like part where the part about putting the body in the bathtub. “And thats another thing, yo. Why you got me running all over town lookin’ for a stupid plastic bin when I got a perfectly good bathtub to use?” Umm… obviously you know that the acid would eat through certain materials and not others or else you wouldn’t have made the phone call earlier to find out exactly what type of plastic to use right?!?

The exact quote was even more perfect than that: “So right now what I need is for you to climb down… out of my ass. Can you do that? Will you do that for me, honey? Please, just once get off my ass. You know, I’d appreciate it. I really would.”
Ha!
The one thing that really annoys me so far about this show is some of the Jesse’s (druggy accomplice kid) dialogue. It often struck me as kind of forced and fake/unnatural, trying way too hard to be ‘hip.’ I hope it mellows out a little.

I don’t think there is a new episode for 2 weeks, and they’re repeating the first two several times between now and then.

I’m having some trouble pinning down the timeframe of this show. Is it supposed to be the present? Seems like the cell phones are rather recent, but much of the rest of the show looks like it’s out of the 80s or 90s.

It takes place in Albuquerque. That pretty much explains why it looks like 1992.

The homeowner in me cringed when the bathtub came through the floor. How do you explain that to your insurance carrier? Urgh, what a mess. I half expected it to eat through to the basement, shades of _Alien_.
I chuckled when Walter gave the guy some waterless hand cleaner. He is **so** in the wrong business.

They said Albuquerque at the beginning (where the Winnebago crashed), but then they flashed to Mesa, which is a suburb of Phoenix in AZ (when they got back home). But you’re point is well taken, and I actually thought about that-- it’s the place, not the time.
