I’m usually so engrossed from shot 1 onward, that I only notice the first couple before it turns into white noise. I don’t even mind them when they do appear minutes later. It also has a small psychological effect that feels the show’s just starting. Had you asked me before this thread how long into the program the opening credits go on for, I would’ve said a couple minutes. Anyhow, they’ve never bothered me (sometimes I do like to catch which element(s) they use for a name though). ---

Skyler just finished staring at a stack of money on her bathroom counter as Walt talks to her. That’s 10:30 starting from the beginning of the episode, not the start of the credit sequence. Since they started at 4:53, that’s 5 minutes 37 seconds over which the credits appear. I’m not sure how you’re getting your numbers. ---

I have the iTunes version though, which doesn’t have a “previously on” segment. On that version, the “Directed by” credit fades out by 10:02. So I guess you’ve got about 30 extra seconds of catch-up footage. ---
