Walt Disney solved the problem half a century ago. The canal should be like the Pirates of the Caribbean; guided along by rubber guard rails and rollers before being set adrift in the Mediterranean or Red Sea. ---

All levity aside, isn’t much of the issue caused by high winds hitting 30+ meters of freeboard+containers along a 350-meter-long ship? Makes it hard to steer a narrow path in such situations - and the Disney solution might just end up capsizing the ship. ---
