As far as how close he got to Trump, it looks like Trump was somewhere near hole 5 when shots were fired (by Secret Service, on discovering the impotent wannabe), but had the impotent wannabe not been discovered ahead of Trump, Trump would have gotten considerably closer on hole 6. The NY Times has a map/diagram of how things were situated at the top of its website right now, but I don’t have a subscription, so I can’t gift link the article it’s likely embedded in. So far, he’s only been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession and receipt of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. ---

The charge is enough to keep him locked up , so the full investigation can continue while keeping the trial out of the news until after election day.
