‘Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law’ - news outlets always refer to them as ‘alleged’ until the verdict is read - then its ‘convicted’ (or not, as the case may be). Its an important thing in our society - even when its ‘obvious’. ---

I think the point @ftg was getting at is that Trump… wasn’t assassinated. The defendant is an alleged _attempted_ assassin. 😉 ---

Yeah, I remember waaaaay back when Nixon called Charlie Manson a killer, instead of “alleged killer.” He caught all kinds of flak for it, and IIRC it could have been used by the defense to show prejudice. After that, I knew you heard “alleged” a lot more than I remember it being used before that. ---
