Though I remember at least once the queen herself flew commercial. (There was a fly-on-the-wall documentary called Airport, about the operations at Heathrow, and one episode featured the preparations for her to fly out on, I think, a Qantas flight.) ---

Another article in The Guardian says, “When the US president travels to London, Air Force One tends to use Stansted airport, as it causes too much disruption at Heathrow, though for Biden’s visit last year it used RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk.” ---

the bees at the queen’s various residences have been informed of her passing and have black ribbons on the hives. they have been told that king charles in now in charge. there are nearly 1 million bees at buckingham palace. ---

Our neighbors have bees and they periodically feed on the pastures around our house. Haven’t been stung a single time in the four years the hives (apiary?) has been in operation. ---

There was a _Midsommer_ episode where the beekeeper said the bees need to be notified when their caretaker has died so they won’t leave. I had assumed it was just folk nonsense. ---
