If you’re really scared, do get yourself to the emergency room. I know it’s annoying, I know it’s expensive, but if you’re bleeding really badly, I’d think you should go.
I tried Mortin- 600 mg. It was no match for my mighty mighty uterus. Going to the doctor in an hour and a half. Then will get ultrasound.
My uterus continues to try and kill me.
Here is the plan, post -Dr:
*Getting ultrasound of pelvis, may have retained placenta
*May need D&C
*Getting many blood tests- definitely anemic, may have thyroid problems
*Taking micronor (minipill)
*Taking new iron pills
*Also have e.coli vaginally (wtf?!), which may be how my son got it as a kidney infection (during birth)
*Need a 2hr glucose tolerance test (since my gestational diabetes may be real diabetes)
*Taking antibiotics
Plus all the other fun and exciting meds/vitamins I am on.

It does suck, but at least it’s slightly better than being in awful pain and wondering what the hell is wrong.
It sounds like your doctor is really exploring all avenues, which is good. It also sounds like they are supportive of breastfeeding, which is also good. Even these days, I hear about a lot of docs “prescribing” weaning for just about any problem with mom or baby.
I hope things go well, and this clears up soon for you. I had horrible, terrible problems with nursing for about three months, but now it is a great experience. I hope you can get to that point soon!
Turns out my uterus is just plain lazy. Stupid uterus. Didn’t get rid of everything during the birth, and hadn’t shrunk down enough to constrict the blood vessels. So I continued to leak. And not make much breast milk. And produce enough hormones to kill a donkey.

Doctor put me on methergine this weekend. It is all the fun of pitocin but without our friend mr. epidural. Also, it is an ergot derrivitive, and so every so often I hallucinate.
Stupid uterus.
In theory this will make me contract hard enough to get rid of anything left over and finally close off extra leaky blood vessels.
Please bring me powdered donuts. I think I have earned them. We live in Hayward, CA. I’m sure someone’s got to deliver (Krispy Kreme perhaps?)
