I had thought that the late\*, not-particularly-lamented **handy** was the first Doper to go to five digits. \*“late” in the sense of “banned,” not “dead”. AFAIK. ---

And I’m honest enough to report what she does contribute. She is in school and uses this computer for classes. I get online during the day here and there but as you can see I don’t come here often. And I was making ends meet when I got pregnant. I lost a child several years ago when I was married and was told I couldn’t get pregnant by doctors because of scar tisue on my tubes, then lo and behold even with a condom I got pregnant again. I don’t have to excuse something like this. Everyone makes mistakes. My little girl is not a mistake. The ONLY reason I get food stamps is because she has a disability that makes it exceptionally hard for me to work a full-time job. I do not get food stamps because I am lazy or stupid or foolish. This is a fine example of what I was talking about earlier. Fuck your stereotypes. We are people. We aren’t underclass heroes or bums or baby factories or whatever label you want to stick on people who seek assistance. ---

Everybody knows that _good_ poor people never go to libraries or use services provided to them or do anything but huddle in their cardboard boxes beating themselves with sticks. _Good_ poor people steal the money their teen daughter earns with her own labor. _Good_ poor people kill their children (regardless of their age when the person becomes poor). And obviously all rational people think that suffering has nothing to do with the conditions you are in - poor people are _incapable_ of suffering, because they aren’t rich. Really folks, this is obvious stuff. How could you disagree with _any_ of this? Your failures at being anti-welfare and anti-poor people are really frustrating - they’re seriously the main reason we right-thinking people are anti-welfare and anti-poor people ourselves. If there _weren’t_ so many annoying pro-welfare and pro-poor people people out there, then we wouldn’t be so frustrated - in fact, if _everybody_ was anti-welfare and anti-poor people, then nobody would be frustrated and there wouldn’t be any anti-welfare and anti-poor people people at all! ---
