Been down to Mobile for the weekend. Got me a good dinner of oysters Rockefeller, fried shrimp and rare ribeye steak one night. Washed it down with several Jack&Cokes. The other night I ate an oyster po’boy at some dive on Dauphin Street. Ran into a girl that I knew as a blackjack dealer over in Biloxi. Her casino got blown away by Katrina so now she’s watin’ tables and hustlin’ a little pool in Mobile. She says she’s makin’ a livin’, but it ain’t like it was before the blow. She thought about goin’ to Vegas to deal, but decided she’d miss the Gulf Coast too much.
