\ Ladies and gentlemen, I _would like_ to call your attention to the thrilling site of our cabin crew beginning to hand out complimentary fruit baskets… but I see here in the manual that such behavior would be in gross violation of the regs. So instead, enjoy our in-flight film, _Ishtar_, and please _do_ feel free to do as you see fit with any fruit you might happen to find randomly distributed about the aircraft. Thank you. \ ---

One of my all time favorites! I’m listening through again for the first time in a few years (when I do so, it tends to be around the holidays for some reason) - I always seem to pick up on a few new little details. Interesting how Benedict Cumberbatch was a relatively unknown, up-and-coming actor at the beginning of the series, and a superstar by the time “Zurich” was taped. John Finnemore is a genius…“Souvenir Programme” and “Double Acts” (both ongoing, AFAIK) are also well worth seeking out. ---

I was thinking this the whole time. I was checking the dates of episodes and realizing Sherlock had begun and become famous by the time the middle episodes were airing. I also caught the Sherlock-like quote thrown in there as a joke for the audience. ---

FINALLY got around to starting this, and kicking myself it took SO long. What a good show; I’m glad y’all Dopers put it in my head to get around to. It reminds me a lot of the best parts of Blackadder and Jeeves & Wooster but with a more optimistic take. Arthur isn’t as grotesque as Baldrick, Martin isn’t quite as dim as Bertie Wooster, nobody’s quite as guileless as Blackadder, etc. It’s a more good-natured riff on the classic British small cast, dry wit sitcom formula, and, boy, does it work. It’s also funny to hear Cumberbatch doing such a Hugh Laurie-ish role given that he’s gotten so many comparisons to Laurie for, especially, Doctor Strange. ---

I know there are a lot of fans of this brilliant little show here. So I wanted to give you a heads up there there are 4 and counting new mini Arthur Schappie-focused episodes up on John Finnemore’s Youtube channel [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC\_DH8YUvliET0C\_hZr\_0Jeg](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_DH8YUvliET0C_hZr_0Jeg) due to the quarantining of the airline. Fizz and Buzz as well as many other jokes have already made appearences. And if anyone hasn’t yet listened to the whole series, this is the perfect time for some great, clean brilliant humor! I should also add that Finnemore’s Twitter is also top notch comedy and happiness. ---

- Psst! \* Go to YouTube, search for and play “[Best of Cabin Pressure](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71KKK-6Mxj0&list=PLSNe37rMxS-__YilRnC4o756KupRJy7Lv)”- I chose the one that came with a playlist). That’s just clips, buuuut… On the right side there should be suggestions including “Gerti” videos. That be them! For some reason, they don’t come up when I searched for “Gerti” {shrug} Listen away… or you could get a good YouTube to Mp3 conversion software (like the eponymously named free program), and ask “What would First Officer Douglas Richardson do?” ---

I am bumping this because John Finnemore has resurrected his Arthur character during self-isolation.
