Good jazz is still being made, but we can all agree the jazz era ended decades ago. The same argument can be made for rock. In fact, [we had a lengthy thread on this subject in 2017](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/is-the-rock-era-over-if-so-when-did-it-end/799324).
