By the way, curry is good as it seems to go down particularly well with beer. I would just suggest that someone scouts out a good curry house, as there are a few dodgy ones in London. ---

Well, we’d be looking for a centrally-located curry house. Both **Crusoe** and I enjoy the curry places on Drummond Street in Euston - they are top notch and there’s a whole street of them (one is vegetarian, and one is bring-your-own-booze (it’s right next door to an offy)). Plus, I used to live on Drummond Street. I’m happy to book one once we know numbers. ---

You know, I was planning on being in London this summer, came into MPSIMS to see if I could start up a DopeFest from across the Atlantic, and found that one was already planned for just the dates I’d been planning on being in England for. Unfortunetly, I had to move my trip back to November. So I come back to try again… and there’s already a DopeFest planned for just the dates I’d been planning on being in England. You people are scary. Anyway, count me in for sure this time. I’ve already got my plane tickets and everything, this time. ---

I’m easy when it comes to food, either pub grub or curry is fine. Now I just need to see if I can find the link to the hotel near Paddington I used before. Based on **Miller’s** location tag, I assume he’s from the state with the new Govenator. ---

I’ll second **Scifi Sam’s** suggestion of Charing Cross as the meeting point since its damn close to the pub. On the food front, can i suggest we do what we did last time we were at the Silver Cross? That is, leave it up to individuals on the day - so anyone who fancies a curry can go get one, anyone who fancies pizza can do that, anyone who wants to eat pub food can stay etc. etc. it worked then. ---

Even I should be able to manage that. I should point out here that I managed to get totally lost between Blackfriars and the pub on Tuesday night and ended up hailing a taxi. Such are the limits of my London navigation skills. ---

Curry on Drummond Street sounds good to me, although it’s a bit far from the pub. I’ll give the Deep Pan Pizza place a miss this time, however, as I can’t say it was particularly good pizza. There are a lot of pubs around Charing Cross. For a slightly quieter drink the [Ship & Shovell](http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/show.shtml/864/) is decent, although perhaps the most tucked-away establishment ever. For food I would suggest [Calabash](http://www.london-eating.co.uk/2693.htm) in Covent Garden, which serves an unusual range of West African dishes at reasonable prices, despite maintaining the formica-and-concrete appearance of a student union. Having said that, I don’t know if I can make it yet so these are only suggestions. ---

Not only is **Angua** almost as bad a navigator as I am myself, but on the Brum Dope pub quiz machine she was asked what we call the time taken for the Earth to go once around the Sun and she hit ‘Day’ instead of ‘Year’. So there you go, Cambridge education, teaches astronomy, sharp as a tack but she still has her blind spots, as do we all (“dysfunctional apperceptions and aptitudes” in the trade jargon). It doesn’t matter because she’s still great _and_ she’s willing to bake cookies! So she’s _really_ great. And not that my preferences need necessarily count for anything, at least not by anyone who doesn’t mind being _turned into a frog_, but I love white chocolate more than any other kind, and I’ve never had choc chip cookies made with white chocolate - in fact, I’d no idea this was a culinary possibility. (So I’m thick, so shoot me.) Kindly note that if the ingestion of _AnguaCookies_ ™ is to coincide with us being inside a pub, a little discretion would be a good thing. Pubs don’t like punters bringing in their own comestibles, and the practice is discouraged. I know Drummond St is a nice place and has some good curry places, but it’s not real handy for any of the other major rendezvous points we’ve mentioned thus far. I think the evening session will probably evolve like this: for the early part of the evening, say around 6-6.30ish, those who want to just stay in the Silver Cross (with optional good quality pub fare) will do so. A splinter group wishing to go for a Great London Curry will do so, and we’ll find a good one that’s within easy staggering distance of the S Cross. Then, curry cravings having been satisfied, and any damage having been paid for, we’ll all re-unite at the S Cross like the big happy family we are, still with much good drinking time left. **Gyrate** - do you envisage your Super Quiz as an afternoon session activity or an evening session activity? Do we tackle it while we’re still relatively clear-headed, or save it for the grand evening finale once we’re all back at the S Cross? ---
