Just to elaborate - after a long career on TV at the BBC, apparently involving all sorts of charity work with children, Jimmy Savile died last year at age 84. A few months after his death, a report was aired on British TV documenting numerous accusations of child abuse. It is a huge scandal, blah blah blah. I am not British, but I see occasional reports of this story, and I get the sense that the British are genuinely surprised about this. When I first saw the story, I googled for pictures of him, and was astounded. People really left their kids alone with this guy? I mean, he looks like a caricature of a creepy weirdo. ---

To give a British perspective on this, among the people I know no-one is surprised by Savile’s noncey-ness. The rumours have been doing the rounds for years and he has long been considered a wierdo. The surprise is more about the degree to which his wierdness was tolerated and indulged and how come those rumours never made it to the point of real news exposures. ---

It was in relation to that girl who was murdered near Denver and how to spot the suspect. ---
