IIRC, it was strongly rumoured a few years ago that he would not call himself Charles, but Louis, in memory of the late Lord Mountbatten to whom he was very close.

I say, the French had more then their fair share of King Louises, it’s about time we had one.

If I remember rightly, he has “Charles”, “Philip”, “Arthur”, and “George” to choose from already, and could pick something else, as well.
