I wish I could find an example. The thing that springs to mind is when you hear police giving statements in court “I did apprehend the suspect” etc. I’ve seen it in several US blogs in the recent past too, but now can’t find any. Which, in SDMB terms, means it doesn’t exist, I guess. 😉

Oh, [here’s one](http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080510021018AAZBBRB).

The reason she said “I did go through Turbotax” is because it’s a follow up to another question she asked in another thread. Someone [here](http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al7Mhmj4JQWvgauPfG8SmFTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080508095014AAX4btY) wanted to know if she used TurboTax.

I don’t know about British English, but in American English “I did go to \_\_\_” and “I did go with \_\_” are not uncommon update sort of statements, following a conversation with someone about a place to go, or which sort of company/product they should choose; often these statements spoken begin with “Oh,”. In this case she chose to use Tubotax to file her taxes.
