Actually, it’s _grossed_ $845 million, and since it costs about $600,000 **per week** in running costs, your first figure may be closer to the actual profit. I was at the 10,000th performance yesterday, it was very cool to be a part of such a special occasion in Broadway history. (who was always kind of eh for me. he’s good, but i’ve seen better) ---

He’s got such a beautiful strong tenor singing voice and I really like how he plays the character. I liked Howard too, but Hugh is far and away my favorite. i hate you. ok, not really. nice pic! actually now that i think about it i may have seen hugh before and have just forgotten. between broadway and catching the tour when it came through tampa i’ve seen the show 17 times. i actually cried when i found out the national tour had ended in 2010. now i’ll have to come back to new york to see it! ---

Back in 1972, I saw \*\*\*Fiddler on the Roof \*\*\*on Broadway, not long before it closed (Jan Peerce was Tevye). At the time, it held the record for longest running Broadway musical, at just under 8 years. I mostly enjoyed\*\*\* Phantom\*\*\*, but I’m a bit saddened to see some of the mediocre and even downright AWFUL shows that have passed \*\*\*Fiddler \*\*\*in the meantime.
