Not really anything to do with Broadway as such - - but I noticed no-one want to play the character I just got cast as in the **first** amateur production of **Summer Holiday** - - which is _Cyril_ also… I have to audition for a part in **Westside Story** in the next few weeks - - I’m not overly familiar with it (I saw it once years ago) but intend to watch it again - - my vocal range is lower E (as in the one down from middle C - -sorry not familiar with correct terminology ) to middle G (as in the one up from middle C! LOL!) - - I can go higher as falsetto ( I do know some stuff ) - - but if I go lower it becomes inaudible… given that info - - recommend me a part to try for - - you guys know a hell of a lot more than me… ---

AARGH I forgot to add the roles I’d like to play… _Kernicke_(sp?) in **Grease** _The Scarecrow_ in **The Wizard Of Oz** - - would that be a broadway musical? I’d love to do something like **Blood Brothers** and **The Producers** - – love to see that show actually - - I’m not fussed what parts I’d play in those - - even stage hand would do me 😃 ---

Oh I wish I could edit posts once I posted them!! I forgot - - I always wanted to play **Scrooge** - - and there is a musical of that called **Scrooge** - - and in Oliver it would have to be **The Artful Dodger** - - I’m going away for a while now… I’m supposed to be a rapper for god’s sake! ---

===NEWBIE PRIMA DONNA POST=== I’d go with: Jesus in _Jesus Christ Superstar_ - a successful six-month run on Broadway following a three-week pre-Broadway run in Boston at the Wang Center. Roger in _Rent_ - fresh from my Broadway success in a great rock role, I take on another one in the non-Equity tour of the Jon Larson musical and another six and a half weeks before I leave for vocal rest because I’ve been straining a bit. Jekyll/Hyde in _Jekyll and Hyde_ - the three-month vocal rest pays off and the double role is a big hit in a dizzily successful motion picture adaptation of the Frank Wildhorn musical, as most recently revised for a series of concert performances; the film is a top grosser, putting me upward on the ladder of success. Joseph in _Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat_ - a regional Canadian production is another big success that goes on tour and leads to a big-selling cast album produced by Arif Mardin and arranged by Steve Skinner and Tim Weil, the triple team behind the cast recording of _Rent_. Jean Valjean in _Les Miserables_ - a brief run with the London cast, which ends up becoming a runaway spike in sales and causing sixteen performances to be added to my originally scheduled run in the show. Billy Flynn in _Chicago_ - another big step up in the career in the ongoing revival at Studio 54, doing only five performances before a leg operation that is necessary and prohibits me from doing the rest of my expected two-week run. I do appear in the final performance of what was to be my two-week run, playing the bandleader. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in _Wicked_ - asked to step in for George Hearn after Joel Grey refuses to return to the show, plays the role for a year before wanting to go back to the traveling life and leaving the show in a tasteful manner. Max Bialystock in _The Producers_ - another tour, and the end temporarily to a career. G ---

I mentioned this thread to a friend IRL, a female with a theater degree, who currently works for a division of ClearChannel, bringing touring productions of Broadway shows to town. Her first choice was Elpheba, from _Wicked_. When I mentioned that I’d LOVE to play the Emcee from _Cabaret_, she replied, “Kev, that’s a little gay, hon.” Same with Dr. Frank N. Furter, who I thought about going as for Halloween. ---

I want to be Maureen in _Rent_. I can’t be Mimi–I’m not Hispanic or tragic. Also, Ado Annie in _Oklahoma!_ --She’s so much more interesting than Laurie. I’d also like to play Grace Farrell or Lily Regis in _Annie_. It’s a hard choice…I’d like to sing “Easy Street”. Slight hijack…I think Tim Burton’s _Nightmare Before Christmas_ would make a great Broadway musical…I’d like to play Sally. ---

**Plnnr** The oldest slash that I know of is the fanzine Naked Times. It wa printed while the original Star Trek was on the air and is devoted entirely to stories and illustrations of Kirk fraternizing with a certian half Vulcan science officer. **Gail** I call the Mad Scientist. Building skeleton reindeer and a wife, and throwing Igor cookies. I could really nail that role.
