> I must confess I find it astounding how many times Broomstick gets completely unsolicited and inappropriate advice from complete strangers. Their demands cover the gamut from the mundane (pierce your ears!) to the life-altering (divorce your crippled husband! have children!). Even my closest friends aren’t this invested in my choices.

I assume that she talks about things said on this board in the same way. I’m sure we are the villains in tales told on other boards, or in person.

There was a wine drinking thread where she said she’d buy wine if it were in smaller bottles because the big bottles were wasted on her. Someone made a suggestion for what she could do, and she turned that into HE IS TRYING TO FORCE HER TO DRINK MORE!

When you start out both defensive and aggressive, I’m sure it does feel like you’re under attack all the time.

> about **GQ** or **GD** but in other forums like \*\*Loach’s Liar, \*\*do we really care?

It depends on what the person is lying about.

For example, I think her story about her MRSA became more and more exaggerated over the course of the tale. In fact, that’s when I first noticed that she was not an entirely reliable witness. But it was indeed a great story, and being that it was in a thread filled with disgusting zit stories, a little exaggeration was no big deal. If anything, it served to make a valuable point - MRSAs can be very dangerous and fast-moving, so you should seek medical help immediately.

A lie about her husband having rebeW burned into his ass is also immaterial, but the fact that she doubled-down on the lie over and over isn’t. She also made nasty accusations at people who doubted her as well. She no longer seems to be operating in good faith.

The lies become more important when she misrepresents “the way things are” for certain populations. She doesn’t just speak of her own personal experiences, but makes generalizations. Those of us who are not part of those groups can come away with some really wrong ideas, and those of us who are part of those groups may resent having such a warped reality presented as fact. Of course we shouldn’t believe everything we read on the internet, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to deliberately spread lies.

Here’s the problem though… the OP didn’t call her ugly names, say he didn’t like her or tell her to go fuck a cactus, he just wanted to call her out on her continuing bullshit. And this is the only place you can do that. In a other threads when someone questions her veracity on these issues a mod comes in, issues a mod note and tells those doing it to knock it off or take it to the pit. Don’t blame the OP, blame the board rules against calling someone a liar when not in the pit.

Perhaps this is a case where a person regards everything that happens online as part of their real life and that’s why her stories sound so off? I couldn’t help notice that she was recently challenged about an “acquaintance” who had a family member successfully commit suicide with a pellet/BB gun. It turned out it was just a post she had read on an Internet forum, much like this one. Perhaps these many encounters with unaccountably rude people took place online. I can easily see anonymous internet commenters shout the rude things that she has reported.

I can’t account for the feats of strength, though.

I totally get what you’re saying. And to a point, you’re correct. We have posters who have earned a position of trust on this board with respect to their profession, I.E. **Qadgop the Mercotan** and **Bricker**. More is expected from them. We have others who have not, and probably never will, earned a position of trust here. Anyone who has been here longer than a few underware changes knows who they are.
Like I said, I totally get where you’re going and I’m not calling you wrong. I’d just hate to see someone who occasionally visits another universe quieted and not willing to report on it anymore.

You are likely correct. I saw that wine thread, where she started in with wanting to know why people disbelieve the amount of alcohol she drinks, when no one had expressed any disbelief whatsoever. That was weird.

Why not decide **Broom** is Tommie\* Flanagan and simply move on?

Weber charcoal grills have the name on the handle and on the metal vent. Also, a few posters have mentioned the height of your typical Weber grill as being too high to accidentally sit on, but apparently no one has heard of the Weber Smoky Joe. I’m not saying I believe all of Broomstick’s story, but it would be pretty easy to back into and fall on a portable grill.

Hey, stranger things have happened.

Once upon a time I got into a pretty bad fight, dude kicked me in the face while I was down, I had a very clear “NIKE” and Swoosh[sup]TM[/sup] imprinted on my forehead for about two weeks. It was the talk of my group of friends for a while.

Did anybody say that they don’t believe he has a scar from a grill on his ass? Jesus.

We don’t believe that he has a scar that reads “rebeW” on his ass 40 years after the incident.

Where modern Weber grills have their logos is irrelevant anyway. The question would be where the logos have been 40 years ago.

I understand that, but does it really matter? When you hear someone has rebeW burned into their ass do you really believe it? Sounds to me like Broomstick isn’t clear on the difference between ‘literally’ and ‘figuratively’. I don’t mean the definition of the words, but rather how and when to apply the concepts.

But it is just a mild pitting, so perhaps appropriate for the circumstance.
