Its really mundane and not at all spicy. Back in July I was involved in a traffic accident. My car was hit from behind and I was tossed around to a certain extent. I’ve had aches and pains ever since; my family doctor referred me to a orthopedic doctor. The payment for his services will be referred to my insurance company but my company will pay only a percentage of his charges. In order to extract the balance from the other guy’s insurance company, I’ve had to retain an attorney. The attorney has requested that I document, on a day to day basis, any difficulty I might have in doing things that I previously did without difficulty. That’s it. I want to conceal the document from my darling Marcie because I don’t want to cause her to worry overmuch about the degree of pain I’m experiencing. Marcie tends to seize on the worst-case scenario and if she reads that I am having difficulty in bending at the waist, she will, in her head, have me hopelessly crippled and confined to a wheel chair. Once she has that worked out, she will try to take over all the daily chores I do around our domicile and will soon work and worry herself sick; I’ve seen her go through this process at least twice and I want spare her if I can. See? Nothing racy, no revelations of past indiscretions, no reminiscences of past girl friends: totally boring.
