Budget Near Collapse as GOP Leader Quits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you own a straw man factory or something?

Do you disagree that the Democrats are trying a balanced approach while the Republicans don’t want to do anything but cut spending and are being disingenuous?

It sounds like your sacred cows were just attacked and you’re lashing out.

It’s been pointed out that Democrats are proposing a 2/1 trade-off with spending cuts/revenues.

It’s been pointed out that Republicans are saying no new taxes and refusing to negotiate.

While cites haven’t been given, it’s been pointed out that lowering taxes generally does not increase revenue. We could dig up the cites if you want, we use them a lot around here.

It’s been pointed out that except for entitlements and military, the rest is pretty much peanuts. Not sure if this was cited or not.

What exactly are you rebelling against?

Damuri did offer some reasoned analysis, but there was plenty of pur opinion sprinkled throughout:

I don’t mind someone demonizing the opponent, as long as they’re honest about doing it. CannyDan seems to be saying that I should accept these premises as gospel truth because they are (subjectively) contrasting the opposing views.

I threw a little sarcasm at Damuri - I hardly think it was any less fair than his/her assertions that I am ignorant, uniformed, and have been tricked.

I have some trouble seeing how you got from here

to here:

As for this:

I’m not sure what “premises” you mean. If you think accurately reporting the positions taken by the GOP leadership is “demonizing”, I suggest you blame the GOP leadership. If you are referring to Damuri’s assertions about financial strategies and their consequences, I’ll note that one side brings cites and the other side counters with ideology and loud repetition.

As for

I will try to remember your definition of sarcasm when I next revise my personal dictionary.

Good question. It IS kinda obvious…
