Buffy Series 7 (and what's up with Joss and SMG?)

I recently rewatched Angel Season 4 and it was amazing and highly entertaining.

If you do, try to spot the appearances by Alonzo Bodden from Last Comic Standing, Jessica Kiper who was Sugar on the latest season of Survivor, and Annie Werschling who is Agent Renee Walker aka “Agent Rowrrr” from this season of 24.

Don’t waste your time convincing the girlfriend, just buy it and start watching it.

Unfortunately we live a rather hand to mouth existence, and £50 on entertainment is something that needs discussion. We shall see . . .

It’s interesting when I think about it, actually. Almost all the characters annoyed me early on, including Buffy and especially Spike, but they grew on me big time. With some of them that process didn’t get to its end. Cordelia was beginning to become interesting before she left, but Angel and Wesley were just annoying. It might be fun to be wooed by them. (Although using this argument with the girlfriend is really not going to work!)

I thought Cordelia, Angel and Wesley all became much more interesting, complex characters on Angel. After a particularly good episode, I found myself thinking “I like this show better that Buffy!” Then I’d see a particularly good episode of Buffy and say “No, this show is better than Angel!”

I like both shows, a lot.

I much preferred season 4 of Angel (which I know many people hated, but I personally enjoyed the ‘turgid supernatural soap opera’) to season 7 of Buffy. And season 5 of Angel was some damned fine television.

I agree. In fact, I’d rank season 4 of Angel as the best season of any Buffy/Angel show. Yes, better than any individual season of Buffy.

I have always liked to refer to it as Barbie’s Dream Hatchet. It doesn’t look like it was forged long ago by a group of powerful women. It looks like it was forged by Mattel.

Eh. I’m just the opposite. The top of my list are B3 and A5. The bottom are B6 and A4. But even the bottom seasons had stand-out episodes.

Tell the GF you’ll be her love-slave if she doesn’t like Angel. Win-win!

No no no… tell her you’ll be her love-slave if she DOES like Angel! That way she’ll have to at least pretend to like it for long enough to actually grow to like it!
