[/QUOTE] Marilyn appeared in _PB_ in 1953, years after making significant impressions in _The Asphalt Jungle, All About Eve, Don’t Bother to Knock_ and over a dozen other movies. Though it certainly was a sensation and made her a bit notorious, it certainly did not “start” her career. ---

Yes, but those nude shots were taken in 1949, a year before _The Asphalt Jungle_ and _All About Eve_. The only reason they didn’t appear in _Playboy_ until 1953 was that the magazine didn’t exist until then. In her movies previous to the nude shots, she had only bit parts, and was not yet a star. ---
