Clicking the word “Main” in the header that shows what forum you are in (“Straight Dope Message Board \> Main \> About This Message Board”\>) still sports a coding that links it to “[http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/forumdisplay.php?f=15](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/forumdisplay.php?f=15)” instead of the new “[Straight Dope Message Board - Your direct line to thousands of the smartest, hippest people on the planet, plus a few total dipsticks.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/)” address. ---

“Main” is the group on subforums named “main”. So clicking on it brings you to just that group, without “Side conversations”. ---

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. It’s good because I don’t give a crap about Side Conversations, anyway. ---

Click on it, then hold shift and click reload. I think the board was down earlier, and I think you browser is still showing the error page. ---

There’s nothing old or new about the forum links you quote. “Main” is a subforum of the “Straight Dope Message Board” list, so it has a specific forum identity, #15. Just like “About This Message Board” is forum #2. “Main” is the forum list that does not include “Side Conversations”. The “scheduled maintenance” banner has nothing to do with the link to Main. You need to refresh your cache. ---
