[/QUOTE] If we’re talking about many hundreds of yards, you could have a bullet drop of a degree or more depending on the type of gun and bullet. A pistol’s trajectory could possibly account for the divergence from the line of sight you describe. ---

That is fuckin’ scary. I hope the police will be keeping an eye on the place for a week or two. And I genuinely hope it’s idiot fire and not an angry student or something - that sounds so horrifying. Best of luck - I hope you get a lock on the perp, volley back some .30-06. ---

Well, that’s frightening. Our family cottage was once broken into and shot up quite deliberately. They shot through every window and most of the decorations. The bastards even lined up the cooking pots and shot through them. At least they didn’t burn the place to the ground. ---

Perhaps a teeny-tiny Tunguska thingy that destroyed itself on impact? Wait, maybe, just maybe, the near miss with the Green Lantern wasn’t accidental. It may be a clue. My suggestion is to look very carefully for green rings, possibly with a summons to fight for justice and avoid anything yellow or wooden. 😉 ---

It doesn’t seem likely that it was someone you knew, though – surely they wouldn’t just randomly fire one shot at your house? You’d expect it to be _at_ you, or at least several shots. Well, if there’s a hole in your carport roof and a hole in your wall, but no round in your house than the answer is obvious. **THE SHOT CAME FROM _INSIDE YOUR HOUSE_!!!** I mean, you do own guns, right? Does anyone have acess to them besides you, that could have had a misfire while you weren’t there? Do the cats know the combination to your gun safe? They may have been plotting against you! ---
