Our Comcast/Warner provided cable modem/wireless gateway/router is a piece of junk. It’s better than the Motorola junk we had before, which I could crash on command by giving it high bandwidth requests, but this one is capricious at best.

We’re not interested in things that CNet seems to pick at like N wifi, or wall mounting. We just want it to not crash literally 3 times a day. Even our Netgear item does that these days. Does anyone actually know a product to recommend?

I think 2-wire has a product for you. I’ll look for it.

I have a 2-Wire DSL modem w/ wireless router that I’m happy with. Haven’t had a problem since I got it. I don’t know about their cable offerings, but if it’s basically the same as my DSL one, I think it could be a good choice.
