Bullshit DUI Laws

I have agree with this poster who says DUI laws are Bullshit. All the money you pay for rehab, does nothing for the offender. It’s a racket that somebody is getting rich off of. I used to think that by lowering the BAC, that it would help lower DUI’s. I think they lowered it to get more DUI’s.

If you have ever had a friend or a relative hurt in an accident caused by an alcohol impaired driver, you quickly believe that life, without the possibility of parole, is not too great a sentence for them.

You are a fucking idiot who should not be trusted to drive.

You are a fucking idiot who should not be trusted to drink.

You are a fucking idiot who should not be trusted with money.

And you are a fucking idiot who should not be trusted to pretend to think.

Seriously, are you stupid? Or is this performance art?

As a side note…I hate these damn zombie threads, especially the really old ones like this. I find I miss a lot of old posters. Even the ones who’ve been banned. Sometimes especially them.

Very understandable, but when you look at some of these stats for DUI’s, you gotta wonder whats going on here…for instance Illinois has 12 million people and in 2015 around 5000 Illinoians got a DUI. Indiana on the other hand has only 6 million residents, yet they handed out close to 25, 000 dui’s. I do think politics plays a part in this.

Sure. Like the politics of “the rate of DUI deaths is higher in Indiana than in Illinois, and thank Juju they’re taking steps to curtail that.”

Your missing the point. The recidivism is going up in Indiana. Who do you think is making money off this.

Yeah, but Hoosiers are a bunch of lightweights who can’t handle their drink. For fucks sake, they drink milk after winning a race.

I’m sure you are. With emphasis on “very responsible”. And on “mature”. Dang evil gubbermints are the problem, is what I say!

Certainly. And I’m just surprised that you didn’t bring guns into the discussion, because to my mind nothing epitomizes public safety as much as a drunken yokel weaving down a country road in his pickup after a night of heavy drinking, so drunk he can’t see past the end of his nose, with a shotgun on the gunrack in the back, a pistol by his side, and a bottle of bourbon rolling around down there somewhere if he can just find it. That’s what Liberty is all about!

Listen here you fucking twit, how many of those people who die of cardiovascular disease take out someone else out? How many of those people dying from cancer cause the death of other, innocent people? All living things die, people, trees, dinosaurs, etc. Yet by your own stats, one of every 5000 human deaths in this country each year is totally avoidable.

How interesting it is that the thread that you zombied was started in 2001. You see, later that year, 20+ guys got together & masterminded & enacted the single worst act of terrorism this country has seen. But you know what, in just 2001, in ones & twos, & fours another type of terrorist took out over five times than many people. In fact in the 10 years from 2001-2010, more than 160,000 more people were killed in alcohol-related fatalities. source.

What? You don’t like it that I called you a terrorist? Well, too fucking bad! You see, one of the dictionary definitions of terrorist is “a person who terrorizes or frightens others”. It’s scum like you that are the reason I don’t like going out on New Year’s Eve, or Super Bowl Sunday, or … You know why? Because I’m scared of being murdered by dipshits like you. You want to drink? Fine. Before you start do one of the following: stay home, walk, get a friend to drive, take public transit, get a taxi/uber. Yet assholes like you are responsible for over 200,000 people dying since this thread was started, & you think you deserve a break???

Also, it’s bullshit that the idiot reviving the zombie couldn’t just wait another month. Then we’d have an honest-to-God 15-year zombie instead of this crappy 14-year-and-11-months zombie.

I know that 15 is the Age of Consent for zombies, but with the decomposition etc., would any jury really expect you to be able to tell the difference?

Ah, it’s not so bad. After all, reviving it brought this gem from Stoid to the fore. That post is great comedy.

And we all know that zombies cannot hold their liquor worth a damn.

No, I mean, they actually can’t hold it. Drains out of the holes in their torso.

I really hate to seem to be on the side of this zombie raiser. I have no problem locking up drunk drivers and in many cases NJ laws are too lenient.

However Pennsylvania is pretty screwed up. You can go have your day in court, make a plea deal or go to trial and get your sentence. A penalty is assigned including a license suspension. That is where the process ends in most states. In PA PENNDOT has some sort of quasi-civil tribunal that then will assess you additional license suspensions. Their court exists outside of the regular court system. It seems to give you few if any protections. Pretty much all of the rest of the post is bullshit.

In “Communistic Russia” the DUI laws shoot you.

It doesn’t work, but there’s got to be a good joke in there. Anyone?

It’s like waking up from a 15-year drunk!

Zombie raiser dianeb: 1 post, join date that same day. Kreskining it, I say was googling for forums where someone may be griping about DUI Per Se provisions and probably has a similar post in a whole bunch of them, not bothering to check that the last reply had been 15 years ago.

That said yeah, sure, some of the Per Se provisions are a wee bit out there, local authorities enforce idiosyncratically and reading Loach’s depiction of the PA system, that’s wack. But then again, at the side of the road when being stopped by police is not the place/time to demand that they show you the law about implied consent. Ignorance of the law does not excuse from subjecting to it, etc.

Plus, this is tiresome: NO, America today is NOWHERE near the Nazi or Communist regimes. Not on DUI, not on guns, not on business regulation, not on speech… Jesus Christ on Rollerskates, get a grip people. Or begin electing legislators who’ll pass reasonable laws.

It’s been 15 years. He’s probably gotten over it by now.

That’s pretty much the reason for implied consent laws. If they have to inform you then it would be informed consent. She is a;so wrong about per se laws.
