# Bully cat stuffs another cat in a box.

Our cats are fascinated with laundry baskets. I set a basket on its side and [Dot](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oGSeM795wCs/TjKuirrYvXI/AAAAAAAAA34/y4PmPoIRc6M/Dot2.jpg) managed to pull it over herself. [Mayme](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DNRg22iQdho/TWaqtvk2JGI/AAAAAAAAA24/VDhaMeYfkhE/mayme.jpg) thought that was cool as heck, and started playing with Dot through the sides of the basket. Then, Ms. Grumpyass [Lucy](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-HVZFajZsJHE/TjKugekeQFI/AAAAAAAAA30/6MNXOBkSszE/Lucy.jpg) came along and sat on the basket.
I wish we had a pic of that, but TheKid and I were too busy laughing.

Our two female cats were introduced as adults, and they have never gotten more friendly than armed truce. When the older (dominant) cat got arthritis a couple of years ago, the younger one started taking the opportunity to start stalking and attacking her, resulting in much hissing and yowling (and the younger one always walking around with scratches on her head). Cats will take advantage of another one’s aging and infirmity (in part because cats are assholes).

One of our cats loves to go into the dryer. One time we accidentally turned it on with him in it. He was in there for about 5 seconds before we stopped it. He seemed more annoyed than scared. You’d think he would realize that is not a place to be after that, but no, he still gleefully goes in there with the clothes, wet or dry.

Is he also the biggest cat? The only boy cat? It’s a dominance thing, they’re settling who is the boss. Usually it’s the biggest, strongest male.
We just got a new boy cat in the house – he’s younger than all the other cats and twice as big. (Yes, another rescue. We are becoming “those people with the animals.” I guess hoarding comes next.)
He’s been here about two weeks and is starting to flex his muscles – literally. At first the other cats ignored him, now they all run away. This is going to take a while to sort out but eventually they’ll all co-exist in (relative) peace. Not without some screaming and claws first, though.

We are required to keep one empty grocery bag on the floor at all times, and to replace it when it becomes too tattered. This is because Charlie and Chaos like to crawl into the bag, and attempt to take a snooze. I say attempt, because whichever one is out of the bag will tap the one in the bag.

Have you tried two bags? The only thing my three cats fight about is comfy spots. They will politelly bow out of each other’s way when tuna is at stake but a comfy spot is worth taking a Spartan stand. The problem is solved by making sure that the number of highly sought after spots is higher than the number of cats.

Oh yes, they usually have two bags available. One bag is the MINIMUM. The two youngest cats just enjoy poking at each other, that’s all. And pouncing on the bag. That’s how the bags get tattered.

He is a boy (there are 2) and he is definitely the biggest. Goddam linebacker. But they’ve been raised together since birth, so I’m wondering why he’s suddenly pulling the asshole card these days. Would it be due to the other boy cat recently being kind of sick? Would the stronger fella kick his brother when he’s down?
As per your last paragraph, I thought siblings who’ve always been together have already settled hierarchy…if anything, the other boy cat was kinda the boss, and now it seems like we’re seeing a power shift. Or am I just anthropomorphizing? 😃

Sorry! But it’s fantastic song, isn’t it? It always goes thru my head when I’m playing with the cats. These guys literally flip mid-air when trying to catch the stinky cat toy.
