I’ve just heard on the radio that Gregory Peck has passed-away, aged 87. Vale Mr. Peck. You were always a gentleman. ---

(_Sniff_) My sainted dog Atticus was named that because the day I got him we stayed up late, the puppy and I, and watched TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD on the late show. I hope that maybe St. Francis can arrange a day-pass for my Atticus so he can go over to Human Heaven from Doggie Heaven and meet Mr. Peck at last. Attie wold like that. (More sniffling. Blowing my nose on a paper towel. Can you tell that I’ve had two rum-and-Cokes?) Second greatest Peck film: ROMAN HOLIDAY. The chemistry between him and Audrey Hepburn is marvelous.
